The use of medicinal plants as alternative therapy for the treatment microbial infections is significant in maintenance good health, especially developing countries. aim this study was to determine phytochemical composition and antimicrobial activity Buchholzia coriacea Psychotria microphylla leaf extracts on bacteria isolated from aquatic environments Nigeria. Exactly 736 water samples boreholes, ponds, rivers, streams, wells respectively were collected study. Antimicrobial B. P. determined using standard microbiological techniques. Phytochemical chemical constituents herbal analytical Bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila (n = 103), Escherichia coli 118), Vibrio cholerae 87). showed appreciable antibacterial activities. presence minerals, alkaloids, protein, terpenoids, phenols, flavonoids, glycosides, steroids, tannins, vitamins. Plant used exhibited an amazing against bacterial isolates bodies. Thus, should be further explored active component(s) responsible their activity.
